Ezer was Adam Carthalion’s spellsquire, who was entrusted with the care of Adam’s infant son, Jared, at the Battle of Aster Fall. Ezer brought Jared to Arathoxia, where House Scarlet would not accept them. Ezer and Jared lived there as beggars. He fell sick, but was partially healed by the alabaster potion Jared gave him. He never told Jared the truth about Adam Carthalion’s past. Ezer was killed when Jared infiltrated Castle Melmereth to kill Ravidel.
