Tom LaPille is an employee of Wizards of the Coast and a former Magic designer and core developer. He used to be a columnist for magicthegathering.com (Latest Developments). [1] Tom played on four Pro Tours before he joined Wizards in 2008. One of his responsibilities was constructing Magic's line of introductory products. Tom was the one who first pitched the idea of using double-faced cards for Innistrad. [2] In 2011 He made the temporary move over to Dungeons & Dragons R&D. [3]
