Kindle is a slang term used by Magic R&D to describe the spells that look at the graveyard for other copies, getting increasingly stronger dependent on the number of those copies.[1][2] First seen on the eponymous Kindle, the effect was designed by Mark Rosewater to be a non-creature version of Plague Rats.[3] This design of card tends to appear at least once each time a cycle of common "collect them all" type cards are printed, such as in Magic Origins and Core Set 2020.
