  • curprev 01:5501:55, 29 April 2024>Jerodast 10,735 bytes +187 Slightly different reference to status since it's now mentioned at top of page. Hopefully better explanation of why copy effects could never copy the underlying creature. Clarify difference between face down and DFC back face, and that mixing terms is never done officially.
  • curprev 01:4501:45, 29 April 2024>Jerodast 10,548 bytes +848 Listed the keywords in the lead section - the entire concept of face down creatures is VERY closely tied to those keywords. Noted this is a Status in the lead section. Rewrote a few bits of the description to generally clarify. Added brief Terminology section.
  • curprev 01:0201:02, 29 April 2024>Jerodast 9,700 bytes +32 remove stray word. Get more specific about drafting & Conspiracy.
  • curprev 00:5400:54, 29 April 2024>Jerodast 9,668 bytes −46 Moved cards back into chronological order. Clarified they are now "Morph-like" abilities since there are more of them not explicitly related to Morph. Added set specifiers so readers can see the card's original design. Removed speculation/editorialization about design choices, which boil down to "these could've been tokens", but, well...they're not. (Note Magar's works very much like Imprint, and there is no reason a token couldn't be granted an imprint ability.) Added Chaos Wrap.

  • curprev 05:5005:50, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,814 bytes +114 fixed hyphenation; added note about drafting face up
  • curprev 05:4505:45, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,700 bytes +57 Meant this to be a description subsection, not separate section. Also added terminology note for DFCs.
  • curprev 05:4105:41, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,643 bytes +514 Separated general and special behavior, added section on DFCs/meld, fixed hyphenation and a couple missed words
  • curprev 05:2305:23, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,129 bytes +58 Added image. Also, I don't think we need to be as explicit about other effects in the lead paragraph, since it's already implied with the phrasing about morph/manifest, "several effects...with other properties" is still mentioned, and there is a full card list later.
  • curprev 05:1705:17, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,071 bytes −173 Putting that other section into list form made it clear there's no need for 2 lists.
  • curprev 05:0505:05, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 5,244 bytes +880 Gave other zones its own section. (A "hidden zone" article might be appropriate eventually.) Rephrased a fair amount including turning up/down mechanics, status/copy interactions, and tokens. Removed Fate Reforged comment since those cards actually don't do anything special at all regarding the overall face down mechanism; they are more noteworthy as weird enchantments/auras and examples of the Manifest ability specifically.
  • curprev 04:1004:10, 21 March 2023>Jerodast 4,364 bytes +251 Given that face down library and even exile cards are far more common than morph et al, the clarification should probably be up top.
  • curprev 03:5503:55, 21 March 2023>Jerodastm 4,113 bytes +60 Let's make the list look like a list. added a few wikilinks. Tezzeret's ability puts any card onto field face down, not just artifacts.

  • curprev 16:5316:53, 17 October 2022>Jerodast 4,053 bytes −10 Good point about the stack, seems important enough to put near the top so that first paragraph covers the full concept of how morph deals with face down cards.
  • curprev 16:4116:41, 17 October 2022>Jerodast 4,063 bytes +359 The essential default properties of face down cards default should be in lead paragraph. Still good to elaborate with the comprehensive definition later of course. Moved card list to separate section; it was out of date and is too long for lead paragraph. I hesitated on just deleting the list, since lists are hard to maintain, but this ability is hard to search for (because of exiling face down) and not that common.

  • curprev 06:0906:09, 1 August 2022>Jerodast 3,204 bytes +297 Hopefully clarifying these aren't cards where you have to forget the default rule exists, simply that the text on the card overrides the default rule. Also moved note about Mask to bottom since it's no longer current. Tidied up phrasing & link to errata page.
