Unpreventable damage
Some Magic: The Gathering cards either cause unpreventable damage, or create circumstances where damage caused by other permanents or spells is unpreventable.
Description
If damage would that "cant be prevented" be dealt, any applicable prevention effects are still applied to it. Those effects won’t prevent any damage, but any additional effects they have will take place.
The mechanic was first seen on a green card in The Dark with Whippoorwill, but has mostly been seen on red cards since. In Throne of Eldraine it once again showed up in green with Questing Beast
