Mark Rosewater gave his traditional teaser with the following hints.

First up, here are some things you can expect:

• a new evergreen counter — Stun counter
• a popular planeswalker card gets a reprint — Liliana of the Veil
• a blue card with “destroy all creatures” — The Phasing of Zhalfir
• a five mana value creature that can be a 10/10 — Territorial Maro
• three original Weatherlight crew members are in the set — Squee (Squee, Dubious Monarch); Ertai (Ertai Resurrected); Karn (Karn, Living Legacy)
• an ability word that didn’t start as an ability word returns — Domain
• rare cycle of +1/+1 granting lords — Valiant Veteran; Vodalian Hexcatcher; Shadow-Rite Priest; Rundvelt Hordemaster; Leaf-Crowned Visionary
• a card that grants poison — Ajani, Sleeper Agent
