Team CMU was an influential professional Magic: The Gathering team from 1997-2001 known for innovating numerous deck archetypes and strategies and producing many of Magic's future developers, writers and champions.[1][2][3] It included such future famous persons as: Erik Lauer, Andrew Cuneo, Randy Buehler, Mike Turian, Aaron Forsythe, Brian Schneider, Nate Heiss and Gary Wise. The team was formed to prepare for [Pro Tour Chicago 1997] and was named after the university where several of its originating members were attending, Carnegie Mellon University.[4]
