Still not sure what to make of these.

  • In the Amonkhet news article they are are called Amonkhet Welcome decks, not welcome 2017
  • The release notes talk about 18 cards extra in the set, 10 in the plansewalker decks en the other ones in Deck Builder's Toolkit.[1]

Information about Welcome Deck 2016 was also extremely hard to come by. We basically knew about this because store owners were surprised in what they received. And it makes sense. The stuff is intended for new people and you don't need to advertise what various cards you receive to new players who can't evaluate the stuff. So the only thing we can do is to wait wait until release to confirm the set symbol and content by taking a look at the physical cards. The open house event is today so I hope to get some information from people who share their experience online. - Yandere Sliver 08:47, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

It is basically all cards which are not in Kaladesh, Aether Revolt and Amonkhet are part of W17. With the increased set number this becomes more and more the spiritual successor of the core sets. - Yandere Sliver 13:46, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
