Storyline

Duel Decks: Garruk vs. Liliana is loosely based on the webcomic The Hunter and the Veil, in which Garruk attempts to stop Liliana from obtaining a dangerous artifact known as the Veil. Garruk summons beasts to fight for him, whist Liliana uses her necromantic powers, eventually obtaining the Veil and cursing Garruk with its powers before planeswalking away. The story was meant to continue in a planeswalker novel named The Curse of the Chain Veil, but it was never published. A webcomic called The Veil's Curse, however, shows Garruk attacking Jace Beleren in an attempt to find Liliana, and Liliana deciding to use the Veil's power to kill some demons to whom she is indebted.
