Olivier Ruel is an active French Magic The Gathering Pro Player. He is the younger brother of Antoine Ruel.

Olivier is has a very impressive Magic resume which argueably makes him at least the third best player of all time, behind perhaps only Kai Budde and Jon Finkel.

Olivier currently has the third most lifetime Pro Points, trailing only Finkel and Budde. It is likely he will surpass Finkel.

He is tied for 6th most Pro Tour Top 8s with 5.

He has the second most lifetime Grand Prix Top 8s with 19, trailing only [Alex Shvartsman]. He is tied with Steve O'Mahoney-Schwartz for second most lifetime Grand Prix wins with 4, trailing only Kai Budde's 7.

He won the 2006 Magic Invitational. His invitational card has not yet been printed.

He was the original writer for the Ask The Pro column.

Despite all this success, Olivier does have a black mark on his record: he was DQed at GP Malmo 2006 and subsequently suspended by the DCI for 6 months starting in August 2006 for repeated warnings about shuffling his opponent's decks in an illegal manner.
