Are as nummerous as the cards themselves. Many Philosophical Aspects of the game can be tracked down to discoveries made by players using another variant of gamerules than the "Official Rules". Magic Variants are preferred by Social and/or Casual players.

This page will try to cover as many variants of the game as possible.

Cube Deck: A variant that uses no lands, a gigantic library and as many players as possible. The cards used must have the ability to lead to complex rules situations that may be discussed at length before calling a general authority on the phone. This variant is higly social and is played slowly and talkative.

Mental Magic: A variant where the cards in hand may count as another card when played as long as the alternate card has exactly the same casting-cost.
