Hardcast is Magic: The Gathering jargon to describe the playing of a spell that has an alternate casting cost (example: Force of Will), and when such a card is played by paying its normal mana cost. Hardcasting a card is usually a sign that the player has a lot of resources on his/her side. (But at some rare occasions players hardcast their cards out of desperation)

Hardcasting can be used to describe pitch cards (such as Force of Will, the most prominent example of such a card), cards with the Madness ability (e.g. Basking Rootwalla), and some cards with Suspend.
