Skyshroud Forest

The Skyshroud Forest is an extremely dense jungle currently located in the frozen wastes of Keld. Previously, it had been located on Rath, but it appeared in Keld following the Rathi Overlay. When the overlay took place, the forest began to freeze due to the heat difference between the climates, but it was saved by the planeswalker Freyalise, who cast a spell to keep the forest warm and ward it against the hostile natives.

The forest is home to the Skyshroud elves, who live high up in the trees, as well as to an aggressive breed of merfolk found in the nutrient-rich water that the forest's trees live in called Rootwater. It is also home to various animals such as trolls, wild vampires and other predators, which make it very dangerous to outsiders. During its time on Rath, the forest was also inhabited by a number of rebellious human tribesmen that were allied with the elves against the Stronghold as the forest's thick canopy offered protection against the skyship Predator.
