Arcades Sabboth

Arcades Sabboth was a mysterious figure from the Elder Dragon Wars. An Elder Dragon himself, Sabboth was one of the victors of the war, along with his brothers Nicol Bolas, Chromium Rhuell, Palladia-Mors, and his cousin Vaevictis Asmadi. He was presumbly killed by Kristina, in her duel with Leshrac.

Controversy over Sabboth's death

There is a debate among storyline fans whether Arcades Sabboth is dead or not. The controversy concerns the following conversation:

Faralyn, Ravidel, Kristina, Leshrac and Chromium Rhuell at the Summit of the Null Moon.

Among the Elder Dragons that survived the War, only Nicol Bolas and Arcades Sabboth were Chromium's brothers. In prerevisionist sources, no other information on these two characters has been ever given. However, in revisionist books we can learn that Nicol Bolas is alive. Moreover, he is the only known Elder that became a planeswalker, so he could never be summoned by another one. Thus, it is presumed that the Elder Dragon summoned by Leshrac and killed by Kristaina is indeed Arcades Sabboth.
