Extended Faeries is a control deck centered around blue and black tribal Faeries. The core of most builds consists of Bitterblossom to produce a small army of faeries, along with strong creatures like Scion of Oona, Sower of Temptation, Mistbind Clique, Vendilion Clique, and Spellstutter Sprite. Faeries also uses a suite of strong counterspells, such as Cryptic Command, Broken Ambitions, Rune Snag, and Remand to keep enemy decks in check. Mutavault and Faerie Conclave are very popular manlands in faeries lists.

Althought most decklists were blue/black, some decks splashed green for Tarmogoyf or white for Path to Exile and Esper Charm. Some even used only blue (or the Ravnica "shocklands" e.g. Hallowed Fountain) to take advantage of cards like Vedalken Shackles that benefited from using islands.

This deck, constructed by Jonas Wallendorf in 2009, features a primarily blue list.

This next deck was piloted to 1st place on a Magic Online PTQ in early 2011. Note that this list used cards from a 4-year-rotation Extended.
