Some cards ask for something to be chosen at random, often for discarding purposes. For games, Mark Rosewater defined randomness as a state that, if not interfered with, has unpredictability. [1] [2]

Popular cards asking for something random include Balduvian Horde and Hymn to Tourach. A popular way of resolving this is to place your hand of cards under the table or behind your back and mixing them up then letting your opponent choose the random card. Other means are the coin flip or the rolling of dice
