Hardcast is Magic: The Gathering jargon used to describe the playing of a spell that has an alternate casting cost (example: Force of Will), and when such a card is played by paying its normal mana cost. Hardcasting a card is usually a sign that the player has a lot of resources on his/her side. (But at some rare occasions players hardcast their cards out of desperation)
