Template:Character Szadek, Lord of Secrets was the parun (founder) of House Dimir, the blue-black flavored guild of Ravnica. The last of an ancient race of psychic vampires, he has resided in the shadows for ten millennia in an effort to eventually seize control of the entire city. He was the main antagonist, although this was not realized until far into the story of the first Ravnica novel. In the end, he is arrested by Agrus Kos.

He reappears in the Dissension storyline as a spirit (he was killed in the Azorius' prisons) who is plotting to destroy Ravnica, using his newfound powers to control the spirits of the dead. It 's also revealed there that he has taken over the Agyrem district, and has managed to kill most of the Boros angels, including Razia.

By the end of the book, he also kills Augustin IV, and is ruling the Agyrem district which has fused with the rest of Ravnica.

When properly pronounced (ZAH-deck), Szadek's name means "buttocks" in several Slavic languages.
