Spiritcraft is the unofficial name of a mechanic utilized on cards from the Kamigawa block that have triggered effects whenever a spirit or arcane spell is played. It has been noted by Wizards that they wish it had been used officially as an ability word.[1]
In Betrayers of Kamigawa, many spiritcraft abilities created ki counters.
