FNM promos (also Friday Night Magic promotional cards) are foil promotional cards provided by Wizards of the Coast as additional prizes at Friday Night Magic events.

Program

Since the program started in 2000, there has been a new promotional card each month, except during the first half of 2001. Originally, three cards were provided, to be distributed to "the winner of the tournament, the fairest player, and a random participant who has not been rewarded already". From 2005 through 2014, each Friday Night Magic event was allocated four promo cards. During that period, one card each was assigned to the first- and second-place participants, and the remaining two were randomly distributed among the other players who had not already received a prize card. Starting in 2015, distribution is left to the event organizer's discretion, although WotC provides guildlines to ensure every player has a chance to obtain the promotional card.

Beginning in January 2008, all FNM promos feature new, alternate art. Previously, the artwork would be chosen from among previous printings of the card. According to policy stated in July 2011, prize cards should be selected from cards currently in Standard.
