Summary

This symbol, and it's associated set code (UNA), was implemented by Wizards of the Coast on the Product Archive and Gatherer entries for Acorn-legal Unfinity cards. It was added without announcements some time after the release of Unfinity and prior to August 25, 2023. It is this editor's belief that this was implemented as a back-end fix to separate out the eternal-legal Unfinity cards from the acorn cards but it may also have been an interim fix for the confusion caused by the holofoil stamp misprints on many Unfinity cards. In either case, Unfinity cards on Gatherer were split into two searchable sets — "Unfinity" (UNF) and "Unfinity (Acorn)" (UNA).

Wizards of the Coast has since removed the symbol from Gatherer but has left it on the Product Archive (as at the time of writing — June 25, 2024). The separation of Unfinity cards on Gatherer into "Unfinity" and "Unfinity (Acorn)" remains but the set symbol used on acorn cards has been reverted back to the standard Unfinity symbol (). -- RivalRowan (talk) 11:45, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
