An ability that is similar to deathtouch in many older cards is Venom (or Basilisk), named after the card Venom.

Description

The latest rule from Oracle:

  • whenever (this creature) blocks or becomes blocked by (opposing creature), destroy (that creature) (at the end of combat)
  • whenever (this creature) deals (combat) damage to a creature, destroy (that creature) (at the end of combat)

Venom applies only on combat damage, while deathtouch applies to any damage dealt to a creature. Some creatures with venom only destroy certain colors or types of opposing creatures.
