The Magic Player Rewards program was set up by Wizards of the Coast to promote play in DCI tournaments. Promotional cards were sent to eligible players based on the number of DCI-sanctioned tournaments they participate in. The first five years of the program, tokens were items given away. Now textless premium cards with mostly alternate art are given away.
