Dangers of Linking to Image Files

What are they? I linked a file from my computer's picture files of a map of Terisiare at 0 AR onto the page concerning its political boundaries of the time, and I was wondering if people will be able to access my computer through that, how it works, etc.

Thanks, I'll check the maps next time.Archlich 00:30, 10 November 2007 (GMT)

Rewards/awards

Hey, hi MORT, long time no talk. What's been going on? ...a suggestion; awards to distinguish MTGSwiki editors, which also carry over to MTGS accounts. Something like that. Hopefully this will increase the number of editors. Perhaps it's not substantial enough; in any case, I do believe the MTGSalvation [Year] Awards has a category for MTGSWiki editor, too... perhaps... rancored_elf could sponsor something, and the top whatever/however many editor(s) get whatever. Or something.

In other things, what has been going on? Spambots? MM (talk!) 12:42, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Hm... I was sorta testing with stuff... and so anyway,

I hereby award you, MORT, a barnstar, for much good work, notably with the Storyline and Translation sections of MTGSwiki. Like I said to Mike: what do you think of barnstars and such? (Also, I confer unto you that barnstar! Anyone can! :D I'm a bit unsure about that...)

Anyway, I'll be out for a while. Cya later. :) MM (talk!) 08:54, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Userpage?

A question on my side, why dont you have a Userpage? ^^ --Hó-òh Diskussion 13:41, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Very good question indeed. ^^ And I have no answere. I was going to made one... but I just like to be like this. :P --MORT (T) 17:34, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
^^ mine is atm very poor; but i dont like red links in my signature ;) so i made this short one xD --Hó-òh Diskussion 02:02, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggestion

I understand so much english... but I have some problems searching for the correct words when I'm talking... n_nU

Following your suggestion I'll try to translate categories...

Hi! ;) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wolfen (talkcontribs).

Boggarts

I'm wondering whether there should be a Boggarts-related article, using the namespace Boggart, with a {{Main|Boggart}} link on the Goblins page (which, by the way, like any other race/type article, looks pretty bad and disorganised) and a general statement or two highlighting the differences between Boggarts and other species of Gobbos. What do you think, MORT? MM (talk!) 13:33, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Massive problem with the creature-type-related articles, the templates at the bottom of 'em. For example, with Gobbos, there: "Categories: Storyline stubs | Storylines | Species and Races | Prerevisionist | Ravnica | Creature types"... If you don't see it, the deal is that Ravnica is associated with the whole article, and thereby each and every section! :o :O *seiiizure* I think it's much more neater if we break it down; that way, we have shorter, more readable articles, and no silliness with the headers, sub-headers and stuff (the ==, ===, ====). Moreover, it allows for a better arrangement of the tribe article itself and the smaller sections.
Perhaps we could bring in references from the books themselves? Referencing is crucial - a template may also be in order.
Any thoughts?
Anything, MORT? I eagerly await your reply.
My stance at the moment is that I personally would like smaller articles, rather than an article full of chunks, yet to be complete. That, and it's harder to reference/template/do anything, really, with massive Gobbo / other tribe/race article. MM (talk!) 14:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Prod - "executive decision"

Hey MORT! :)

... List of cards from Invasion is up for deletion, and your vote is probably required - we, after all, don't have way too many admins like on any major wiki (official language Wikipedia ones, for example).

Have you got any ideas on how this wiki should proceed in terms of its aims, short-term and/or long-term? Any conventions we need to address, or templating/formatting issues? Lately, I've been championing for templates and referencing - more so for the former than the latter, but I am championing for both nonetheless. MM (talk!) 05:10, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing up my edit to GeoMike's talk page, MORT. =) MM (talk!) 08:49, 23 November 2007 (GMT)

Categories

"The Game of Magic" and "Magic: The Gathering"

Yeh, for a while I've been thinking that The Game of Magic and Magic: The Gathering are different names for the same thing; but, recently, I've interpreted the former as the more physical game of Magic, while Magic: The Gathering is a bit more of a blanket term that applies to anything M:TG-related - ideally a category for anything that doesn't fit... yet.

To me, TGoM feels more of an actual Magic thing. What do you think? MM (talk!) 15:22, 23 November 2007 (GMT)

I'm going to have to drink a Coke and dwell over that :) --GeoMike 17:03, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

"Species and Races[sic]" and "Creature types"

Hm. Interesting. I don't like Species and Races for aesthetic and rule-related reasons. I think creature types is in-game, and that this thing called "Species and Races" is more for flavour. So... Species and Races should perhaps be part of Creature types, but they're pretty much the same thing; with every article having both of these things (I'm assuming).

I personally think we should come up with a better name for "Species and Races" - a one-worder, or a non-awkward way of expressing it would be ideal. MM (talk!) 15:22, 23 November 2007 (GMT)

Mmmm... it's not really the capitalised "R"; it just sounds so prolix for a category. Bestiary sounds pretty good, but it also sounds like it itself is a compendium of creatures - like that Harry Potter 'extra' "Magic Beasts and Where to Find Them" or whatever it's called. =p At the moment, I think Species and Races should be a category under Creature types, but then not all species and races are creature types. Maybe just "Category:Species", but then if there's two, say, goblin-related tribes, they're... MM (talk!) 04:32, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Chromium Rhuell

I like those edits that you've made, MORT. Now it reads much better and clearer than before. Good job! =) MM (talk!) 12:57, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

true heir

Yeah...I corrected it. I wrote it immediatelly after I learnt that he was banned. Believe it or not, but I had no idea about his identity until yesterday, when I saw his post in the 'Heard a Small Rumor' thread...very Ix-like post. And I checked it today only to learn that I was right. So it was written pretty much from my point ot view, and it should read 'unbeknownst to me'. I edited the paragraph. Have a nice day, Krys ;) Caranthir 21:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
