- For the theme deck see: Domain (deck)
Domain is a term that refers to cards that rely on the number of different basic land types (one to five) a player controls. Domain cards were introduced in Invasion. Domain is not an ability or a keyword.
In the Invasion block, there are a total of 28 Domain cards: 14 from Invasion', 10 from Planeshift, and 4 from Apocalypse. As a throwback to the past, there is 1 card with Domain in Time Spiral.
Domain cards encourage you to play five-color decks containing at least one of each basic land type. The Sunburst keyword from Fifth Dawn, which likewise encourages five-color deckbuilding, can be seen as a latter-day cousin to the Domain mechanic.
Domain cards from Invasion:
- Coalition Victory
- Collapsing Borders
- Collective Restraint
- Exotic Curse
- Global Ruin
- Kavu Scout
- Ordered Migration
- Power Armor
- Strength of Unity
- Tek
- Tribal Flames
- Wandering Stream
- Wayfaring Giant
- Worldly Counsel
Domain cards from Planeshift:
- Allied Strategies
- Dominaria's Judgment
- Draco
- Emblazoned Golem
- Exotic Disease
- Gaea's Might
- Magnigoth Treefolk
- Samite Pilgrim
- Star Compass
- Stratadon
Domain cards from Apocalypse:
Domain cards from Time Spiral:
Anti-domain cards
Two cards are designed to be effective against domain decks:
- Mask of Intolerance from Apocalypse
- Planar Overlay from Planeshift
Example
In the above example, if you have all 5 basic land types then the enchanted creature gets +5/+5.
