Jay Schneider is a former player and columnist best known as the founder of The Sligh Principle though Paul Sligh was the one who got his name connected with it and the concept of Sligh.
Games has always been an important part of his life and he started playing chess at the age of 5 and earned several prizes throughout his youth.
In addition to playing chess, he was also the Secretary of the Georgia Chess Association in 1983 and has had several of his articles about chess published.
