Hardcast is Magic: The Gathering jargon to describe the playing of a spell that has an alternate casting cost (example: Force of Will), and when such a card is played by paying its normal mana cost.
Hardcasting can be used to describe pitch cards (such as Force of Will, the most prominent example of such a card), cards with the Madness ability (e.g. Basking Rootwalla, and cards with Suspend.
