The Gatewatch is a group of planeswalkers initially allied together to fight the Eldrazi on Zendikar.

The initial group lacked a black planeswalker. Ob Nixilis was in the neighbourhood, but opposed the group. Ironically, he sometimes known as Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath, but that refers to the oath he swore to the demons he invoked on his homeworld when he still was human.
