Returning cards
These 93 cards are reprints, but were not in Magic 2014. A + after the card name indicates a card that has never been in a core set before. A ! after the card name indicates a card that hasn't been Modern legal before. A * indicates all-new artwork (list not yet updated with new artwork).
Changes in rarity
The following cards changed rarity from their last printing to Magic 2015.
- Ancient Silverback was rare in Ninth Edition, now is uncommon.
- Charging Rhino was uncommon in Tempest, now is common.
- Darksteel Citadel was common in Darksteel, now is uncommon.
- Gather Courage was common in Ravnica: City of Guilds, now is uncommon.
- Gravedigger was common in Magic 2012, now is uncommon.
- Heat Ray was common in Rise of the Eldrazi, now is uncommon.
- Invisibility was uncommon in Eighth Edition, now is common.
- Ornithopter was uncommon in Magic 2011, now is common.
- Restock was rare in Invasion, now is uncommon.
- Stab Wound was common in Return to Ravnica, now is uncommon.
- Torch Fiend was uncommon in Magic 2013, now is common.
Strictly better
- Crowd’s Favor is strictly better than Kindled Fury.
- Sungrace Pegasus is strictly better than Armored Pegasus.
Strictly worse
- Carrion Crow is strictly worse than Screeching Bat.
- Festergloom is strictly worse than Loss (Profit/Loss).
- Marked by Honor is strictly worse than Vow of Duty.
- Nimbus of the Isles is strictly worse than Phantom Monster which is strictly worse than Voyager Drake.
- Rogue’s Gloves is strictly worse than Mask of Memory.
- Statute of Denial is strictly worse than Dismiss.
- Tyrant’s Machine is strictly worse than Crown of Empires and Trip Noose.
