Squid are marine cephalopods that feature eight small tentacular arms and two large tentacles. Unlike the closely related octopus, squid have hard spines that define their distinct mantled heads. They tend to flock in large schools, although larger versions may be solitary. Not to be confused with nautili, krakens or the sentient cephalid.
