Cockatrices are flying creatures that can turn their enemies to stone, much like basilisks. They have lithe, feathery, serpentine bodies with the head of a bird, two legs, and two wings.
A cockatrice was once summoned by Jared Carthalion when he was inside Castle Melmereth. It both killed and was destroyed by a clockwork avian.
Another cockatrice was contained inside an Apocalypse Clock.
