Badger is a seldom used creature type for cards that depict lifelike short-legged, heavy-set digging omnivores. The first card to bear the type was the Giant Badger which came as a media insert with the book Shattered Chains.

The type was reused for Homelands which had Rysorian Badger, and for Mercadian Masques which Rock Badger. While the first two badgers were green, the last one was red.
