Enchantress is a Legacy combo/control archetype. The deck tries to gain card advantage by casting Enchantment spells with an Enchantress out. Once the deck has accumulated enough cards in hand and on the board, it will drop a Solitary Confinement and find a way to win from there.
Due to the decks un-interactive nature and due to the key card of Solitary Confinement, the deck is often dubbed "Solitaire".
Creature Type
There were three cards printed with the creature subtype Enchantress. The first was Verduran Enchantress in Alpha. The other two are Femeref Enchantress from Visions and Argothian Enchantress from Urza's Saga. This was changed in the Grand Creature Type Update, where they bame Human Druids. Yavimaya Enchantress from Urza's Destiny and the white Mesa Enchantress from Planor Chaos were Druids from the start.
A related card is Enchantress's Presence.
