The Pool of Knowledge was a vat of Blinkmoth Serum that was used by the vedalken to mutate the species into evolution and to bring revelations. To "activate" the pool, one has to drink a vial of serum beforehand.
At the bottom of the pool lay the Blue Lacuna.
