Mirrodin's Core. Art by Greg Staples.

Mirrodin's Core was a massive system utilized by Memnarch to control the outer world of Mirrodin.

A massive globular space within Mirrodin, the core can only be approached through five lacunas, one in each land of Mirrodin. It is a brilliant and otherworldy sight, with shining metallic surfaces everywhere, reflecting the intense light of the plane's core. In it were many hundreds of Memnarch's artifact creatures and constructs. At the center, suspended in the air, is a blinding circle of bright light, a ball of pure mana known as the Mana Core. It was from this ball that the five suns emerged into the sky in Mirrodin's distant past. This event puzzled both the plane's Guardian and its denizens, eventually leading to legends about the nature of the five satellites. Mycosynth towers also dot the metal innards of the plane, though their arrival is also something of a mystery.

Panopticon, once Memnarch's lair, is located here, just below the beaming Mana Core.
