Mirrodin's Core was a massive system utillized by Memnarch to control the outer world of Mirrodin. In it were many hundreds of Memnarch's artifact creatures and constructs. At the hollow core was a blinding circle of bright light, a ball of mana. Mycosynth towers dotted the metal innards of the plane.
