- For the relationship between spell color and land distribution, see Color balance.
Balance[1] and Harmony[2] are playtest names for an unnamed mechanic in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty.
Description
Balance/Harmony is a threshold ability where you need to control an artifact and an enchantment, and which is centered in black. It enables some decks that play a combination of both sides (traditional versus modernity). R&D focused it in white and black as a draft archetype.[2]
Prior to this, Throne of Eldraine had a blue-white archetype also focused on artifacts and enchantments, leading to the two related cards below. Unlike balance, the archetype paid off when either was controlled rather than maximized when both are.
Example
Example
Banishing Slash
Sorcery
Destroy up to one target artifact, enchantment, or tapped creature. Then if you control an artifact and an enchantment, create a 2/2 white Samurai creature token with vigilance.
