Lifetime Mending Era

Thom is a Cabal cultist masquerading as a Tolarian student, on the plane of Dominaria.

Description

Thom is described as a young man wearing Tolarian student robes. He appears innocent, with a demeanor that even makes Raff, who is already quite youthful and earnest, seem like a seasoned rake in comparison. Thom initially presents himself as contrite and earnest, appearing to be a dedicated student who stayed behind to help and got absorbed in his studies. However, this is quickly revealed to be a facade. His true personality as a cunning and deceptive individual emerged when he attacked Jodah with a dark globe of death magic, revealing his allegiance to the Cabal.

History

Thom deceived Jodah and the rest of the Weatherlight crew by pretending to be an innocent student who stayed behind to help and got lost in his studies. He admitted to finding a device at the crime scene, which he used to justify his presence, although it's clear this was part of his cover. Thom then attempted to kill Jodah with a powerful spell, using dark magic and revealing his true intent. During the confrontation, Thom cast a spell that enveloped Liliana in a black cloud and attempted to attack Gideon, demonstrating his capabilities as a Cabal agent. After being captured, Thom's body went rigid under Jodah's spell, and Raff used an advanced magical interrogation technique that made Naban leave the room in a cold fury. This enabled the team to discover the location of the Cabal Stronghold, where Belzenlok presided.
