The Serra paladins is an order of knights devoted to the protection of the towns of Aysen and the ultimate destruction of Baron Sengir.[1] The paladins swear a vow: "One light, one blade, one purpose."[2]

Description

The Serra paladins are the living embodiments of Serra's point of view. They seek to destroy all evil in the world and view all things as black and white, good and evil, and it is obvious that the people of Aysen represent good, and just about everybody else is evil.[3]

Common soldiers who excel in their duties and revel in faith are most often chosen to become Serra paladins, sworn enemies of Baron Sengir and the traitor Lord Ihsan. But instead of valiantly marching forth to death and honor, they are forced by their government to defend their borders from marauding creatures and wait for the day when their nemesis is foolish enough to venture from Castle Sengir and fight. The Paladins do not lead the common folk but stand apart from them as examples. A number of these brave men and women have been sent to single-handedly assault Sengir Castle over the years, but they are rarely heard from again once they enter into the mists of Koskun Falls.[3]

On Ishan

The most infamous member of the order was Ihsan, who in his quest to defeat Sengir, went directly to the castle to ask the vampire lord to make him immortal. Ihsan planned to use his powers as a vampire to kill Sengir, but the Baron understood this, and instead turned Ihsan into a shade, unable to harm him.[1] The Serra Paladins viewed this as a betrayal, and although Ihsan wanted to rejoin their ranks, he was refused.[4]
