Ranger is a creature class that represents hunters, scouts, trappers, and assassins who excel at exploring the fringes of civilization and hunting down deadly monsters.
Description
Rangers can be found wherever civilization border the wilderness. To aid them in their outback treks, rangers are trained in a number of combat techniques, survival skills, and even magic. The subtype was first featured on the card Kelsinko Ranger from Ice Age, but in the Grand Creature Type Update the subtype was incorporated into the human type.
The type was re-introduced in Modern Horizons 2 with the Quirion Ranger and Ranger-Captain of Eos reprints[1] , anticipating one of the main Dungeons & Dragons creature classes appearing in Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. According to Aaron Forsythe, older cards which depict rangers will be updated with the proper type.[2]
