Music counters are a type of counter introduced in Ice Age. They force a player to pay mana to prevent a creature from being destroyed.
Description
Music counters first appeared on Musician in Ice Age and later re-printed digitally in Masters Edition II. It has an activated ability to place Music counters on creatures. For each music counter on a creature, the player must pay one mana each turn, or else it'll be destroyed. The counters and ability remain even after the Musician leaves the battlefield.
Trivia
- In Magic Online, the counter is colored orange as its considered a negative effect and shares its icon with Chorus, Scroll, Sleep, and Verse counters.[1]
