Eyestalk counters are a type of counter introduced in the Mystery Booster on a test card.

Description

Eyestalk counters first appeared on Underdark Beholder Test card in the Mystery Booster. It enters the battlefield with 10 of the counters on it. The counters act as a shield in that one is removed for each damage that would be dealt to the creature. If all are removed the creature is sacrificed. Whenever the creature attacked, it also let the player reveal cards from the top of their library until an instant, sorcery, or enchantment with converted mana cost less than the number of counters on it was found allowing it to be played without paying its mana cost. These counters represented the eyestalks of a Beholder.
