George Fan is the designer of the popular video game Plants vs. Zombies. In 2018 he was hired by Wizards of the Coast for a six-month period as designer for Magic: The Gathering.
George Fan is in long time fan of Magic. In 2014, he created the Genesis Hydra as a guest designer for Magic 2015. In 2018, he participated in The Great Designer Search 3, but he didn't make it to the top 8. He then wrote to Mark Rosewater that he had entered into the competition because he was interested in working at Wizards of the Coast for six months. Rosewater invited him in, and he started his term in August 2018.[1] In this role, he participated in the development of Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths.[2]
