Rule cards or Tips & Tricks cards are extra cards inserted in booster packs that explain a theme or mechanic found in that set. They were first introduced in the 10th Edition, although Legends boosters had a rules card which was introduced there when the decision of not printing Legends as a standalone set was made, and Portal had ten strategy cards with deck-building tips. Rules cards alternate as the 16th in the booster packs, with tokens produced by something in the relevant sets. [1] Rules cards were discontinued starting with Magic 2013.
