Mite is a creature type for cards that depict small parasitic arachnids that may infest animals, plants, and stored foods and may transfer phyresis.
History
Mites first appeared as both a creature type on colorless 1/1 tokens with toxic in Phyrexia: All Will Be One[1], always as Phyrexian Artifact creatures that can't block. Skrelv, Defector Mite is the first Legendary Mite in the game, from the same set, and carries all the same text and stats, alongside another ability.[2]
A slightly earlier card, Haywire Mite from The Brothers' War had insect as creature type. As it didn't have toxic, it is unlikely to receive errata.[3]
